ATP rollout begins

The first concrete step in the installation of RailCorp's ATP system will be taken soon when the first lineside electronic units (LEUs) and balises are installed between Wyong and Berowra. The system will enter use in 2013.

You might notice trackwork going on to install the equipment, which are vital components of the ATP system. If working in the Rail Corridor, be careful not to damage the equipment, and report any equipment that appears damaged.

To find out more about the installation and the ATP Program, visit the Automatic Train Protection (ATP ) section of RailSafe's Resource Library.

The photo to the right shows two yellow balises installed during earlier trials.
